Chicago is famous for its food, its criminals, and its politicians. It is also known for its architecture. Though most often known as the birthplace of the skyscraper, Chicago can also be thanked for the Chicago-style window. This tower combines both of the Windy City's architectural innovations -- skyscrapers and Chicago windows to create a residential building that is both visually interesting and functional for those living inside. In this case the Chicago windows are bowed which creates channels enhancing the building's verticality and giving it some texture. They also give residents just a little more space in what can sometimes be tight downtown living conditions, and exceptional views. And views are what it's really all about in this location. Facing both the downtown skyline and Lake Michigan, the ParkShore has been renowned for its lake, river, and city views in spite of the fact that it is sandwiched among several other towers.
